As strange as this may seem, when people think of household hazards, they often overlook the largest one. Garage doors, particularly older models, can potentially be very dangerous. The International Door Association (IDA) and the Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association (DASMA) have teamed up with support from the garage door industry to promote garage door safety awareness in June.
Garage Door Safety Awareness Program IDA and DASMA have created a comprehensive free program that includes video how-to’s, PowerPoint presentations for multiple age groups, posters, safety check lists, coloring pages to help children understand the importance of garage door safety, and other educational print materials. The complete program is available in the IDA’s website and through your local garage door service.
